What is the CFI model based on?

The Culture Fit Index (CFI) model is based on extensive research in organizational psychology and workplace dynamics. It measures multiple dimensions including work values, communication styles, decision-making approaches, and conflict resolution preferences.

How does Marcel work with WhatsApp?

Marcel integrates directly with the WhatsApp Business API, allowing candidates to chat with Marcel simply by scanning a QR code or clicking a link. This integration enables a multilingual conversational assessment experience right within WhatsApp—no extra apps or logins required. Marcel guides candidates through the CFIlytics® questionnaire in a natural, chat-based format and provides immediate feedback on their culture fit score.

Is candidate data secure and GDPR-compliant?

Absolutely. Marcel is built with privacy as a core principle. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest, and we fully comply with GDPR requirements. Candidates always retain ownership of their data and can request deletion at any time. We only share candidate information with the companies they have explicitly applied to, and only if there is a sufficient culture match.

Can we customize the questions?

While the core CFIlytics® questionnaire is scientifically based and should remain consistent for accurate results, companies can add up there own custom questions and decision tree that reflect specific aspects of their culture or values.

What happens if a candidate doesn't match?

When a candidate doesn't match your company culture (typically below a 50% match score), Marcel will tactfully inform them. If you have opted into our referral network, Marcel can suggest other companies in our network where the candidate might be a better cultural fit, creating a positive experience despite the rejection. Likewise, your company may receive referrals of candidates who initially applied elsewhere but are a better fit for your culture.

How accurate is the culture matching?

The CFIlytics® model has demonstrated strong predictive validity in our research, with companies reporting that candidates who scored 75% or higher on the CFIlytics® had significantly higher retention rates (35% higher at the 1-year mark) and reported greater job satisfaction than those hired through traditional methods. The model is continually refined through machine learning that analyzes actual job outcomes against predicted matches.

Will Marcel replace human recruiters?

No, Marcel is designed to augment human recruiters, not replace them. Marcel handles the initial culture fit screening and additional screening questions needed to ask for the vacancy. Freeing up recruiters' time so they can focus on the candidates who are most likely to thrive in their organization. Human recruiters remain essential for evaluating technical skills, conducting interviews, and making final hiring decisions.

Can Marcel assess technical skills?

Marcel is designed to focus on cultural alignment rather than evaluating technical skills. We believe technical abilities are best assessed through methods such as portfolio reviews, technical interviews, or skills tests. Marcel’s role is to ensure that candidates moving forward to these technical evaluations already demonstrate a strong potential for cultural fit. However, if desired, you can program questions into Marcel’s decision tree to gather additional insights into a candidate’s technical or other skills.

How much does Marcel cost?

Marcel offers various pricing tiers based on your company size and hiring needs. During our Early Access period, you can benefit from special introductory pricing with full access to all features. Is Marcel available internationally?

Currently, Marcel is available in English, Dutch, and French, with support for companies based in Europe. We are rapidly expanding our language capabilities and geographic coverage.
